Artist Statement
I’m deeply connected to nature, animals, and the essence of what makes us human. My work honors that connection by capturing what matters most—through the lens of care and presence.
Hi, I’m Cole
I’m a 19-year-old wildlife photographer based in the Bay Area, California.
I photograph wildlife with the same sense of wonder I’ve had since I was a kid. My goal is to connect—to nature, to animals, to what matters—and to help others do the same.
I grew up loving wildlife, dinosaurs, and the natural world. I was the kid picking up snakes, reptiles, and bugs, fascinated by every living thing I could find. I spent my childhood outdoors—camping, exploring, and hiking across California, Utah, and Colorado. When I was 14, I went commercial fishing in Alaska, which exposed me to even more of the natural world and deepened my respect for wildlife.
Photography came naturally to me.
I began taking photos on my iPhone, focusing on composition and understanding the basics. In my senior year of high school, I got my first camera and taught myself how to shoot in manual mode. Everything clicked.
I built a foundation and began photographing birds. Then, I found a hawk. I was in love.
At night, I would hear a pair of great horned owls calling in my neighborhood. After falling in love with wildlife photography, I knew I had to find them. I did—and spent four months photographing them almost daily. In that time, I learned so much about owls, their behavior, and how to find them.
Today, I photograph wildlife with a focus on presence, patience, and connection—bringing curiosity and care to every image I make.
