This female Bobcat was captured in California. It was on the rock for seconds, and I had to act quickly. A bobcat (Lynx rufus) is a distinct species within the Lynx genus, often referred to as the red lynx or bay lynx. It is one of four species of lynx worldwide, the smallest, and is commonly found across North America. Unlike the Canada lynx, bobcats have smaller paws, shorter ear tufts, and a shorter tail with a black top only at the tip.
